Adam C. Dawson maintains a diverse civil litigation practice emphasizing construction, real estate, hospitality and gaming industries.
Mr. Dawson has extensive experience representing all sides of real estate and construction disputes involving hotels, office buildings, retail stores, warehouses, waste treatment facilities, power plants and airports. His experience with government contracts includes representing a National Nuclear Laboratory in a construction dispute governed by the Federal Acquisition Regulations. He has represented both landlords and tenants in complex commercial lease and development agreement disputes. He has represented owners, managers and developers in real property disputes, including those involving easements, joint ownership and partition. He has counseled owners, operators and tenants with respect to ADA compliance issues and has successfully represented clients in federal and state courts as well as local administrative proceedings relating to access issues.
Mr. Dawson has represented public owners, financial institutions, and private individuals and companies in trials, arbitrations and mediations. Mr. Dawson has been appointed by the California Office of Administrative Hearings Public Works Contract (PWCA) Committee to the PWCA’s panel of arbitrators and has completed the American Arbitration Association's training for certification to their panel of arbitrators.
Mr. Dawson has lectured and taught classes relating to depositions, litigation strategy and techniques and has written articles relating to ADA compliance, mediation of construction claims and lease interpretation issues. He is recommended by PLC Which Lawyer? in Construction (2009-2011). He was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in the area of Construction Law. Mr. Dawson is the former chair of Farella’s Construction Group.
