Dave Stoll is a partner in the firm's Business Transactions and Intellectual Property & Technology Groups. Mr. Stoll represents a wide variety of clients, from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, with all aspects of corporate and LLC formation, governance and financing strategies, mergers and acquisitions, as well as strategic partnering and technology sharing arrangements.
Mr. Stoll Co-Chairs the firm's Renewable Energy and Clean Technologies Practice Group, and represents solar manufacturing and project development companies in connection with acquisitions, sales and contracts related to development projects. He developed a deep understanding of the solar industry and the day-to-day operations of solar development companies though a recent six-month term as interim assistant general counsel for a name brand solar development company. He leverages the firm's environmental, real estate, land use, and construction groups to implement his cleantech client's project development needs. Mr. Stoll was selected as one of the "Top 25 Clean Technology Attorneys" in California for 2011 by The Daily Journal.
With respect to intellectual property and technology, Mr. Stoll represents and advises a wide variety of clients on development, exploitation and protection of intellectual property. He is one of the principal "go to" attorneys for some of the world's largest retail and e-commerce companies. His principal areas of focus are technology licensing, e-commerce agreements, vendor management, brand and merchandise licensing, as well as trademark prosecution and protection.
Mr. Stoll also maintains an active role in the firm's Wine Industry practice and splits his time between San Francisco and the firm's St. Helena office, representing wineries and vineyard owners, large and small. He works with wine clients in connection with branding and compliance issues, grape contracts, mergers and acquisitions, distribution agreements, fulfillment agreements, among other matters.
