Dean Gloster is of counsel at Farella Braun + Martel and for many years served as head of the firm’s Restructuring, Insolvency and Creditors Rights practice, which has earned national and San Francisco rankings from U.S. News - Best Lawyers. He was lead lawyer for all the non-management unions in the contested Chapter 9 bankruptcy of Vallejo, California, was the largest city bankruptcy ever filed in California and one of the largest ever in the United States. He has experience in large bankruptcies involving the automotive industry and large pension and benefit obligations, including in bankruptcies of General Motors, where he represented the General Motors Retirees Association, Delphi Corporation, where he is lead counsel for the Official Committee of Salaried Retirees, and Delta Air Lines, where he represented the non-pilot retirees (union and non-union) and their official committee. His bankruptcy-related litigation work has included large fraudulent transfer actions, including cases where both criminal and civil liability was asserted.
