Eric Tausend is an associate in Farella Braun + Martel’s Construction and Insurance Coverage groups.
In his construction practice, Mr. Tausend represents public and private owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers on a wide range of construction issues. He provides both front-end and litigation services, advising clients on contract drafting, claim analysis and preparation, dispute resolution, payment, performance and subdivision bond recovery, contractor licensing issues and construction related insurance matters. Mr. Tausend currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the Construction Law Section of the Bar Association of San Francisco Barristers Club.
In his insurance coverage practice, Mr. Tausend represents policyholders pursuing coverage under all types of insurance policies, including primary and excess general liability policies, property policies and professional liability policies. His article “‘No-Prejudice’ No More: New York and the Death of the No-Prejudice Rule,” discussing recent changes in New York’s treatment of the late notice defense to insurance coverage, was published in the Hastings Law Journal.
Mr. Tausend served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Jeffrey S. White of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.
Mr. Tausend earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2010, where he was Senior Articles Editor for the Hastings Law Journal, a member of the Thurston Society and admitted to Order of the Coif. He was awarded Best Moot Court Brief. He received his B.A., summa cum laude, from San Diego State University in 2006 and was admitted to Phi Beta Kappa.
Mr. Tausend is admitted to the State Bar of California.
