Erik Olson focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation. Mr. Olson litigates patent, copyright, trade secret, trademark, trade dress, and right of publicity infringement actions, as well as disputes over licensing royalties and ownership of intellectual property. He also litigates complex commercial disputes and counsels clients on licensing of intellectual property. His cases have involved biotechnology, nanocrystals, electrochromic glass, data centers, corrugated stainless steel tubing (CSST), WiFi, USB, Android software and other technologies relating to smartphones and tablet computers.
Mr. Olson has experience working on inter partes reviews of patents at the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) in parallel with federal district court actions involving the same patents. He has represented clients in all aspects of arbitration and litigation, including Markman, summary judgment, and trial, where he has examined lay and expert witnesses.
Mr. Olson has been named among the Northern California Rising Stars by Super Lawyers in the field of Intellectual Property Litigation (2013-2016).
