"Etsy I.P.O. Tests Pledge to Emphasize Social Mission Over Profit"
Farella Braun + Martel Business Transactions Partner Phil Peters comments on challenges Etsy could face as a public benefit corporation, or B Corp. In the article he notes, “Etsy could be subject to challenges both from those who think there are not enough social objectives being fulfilled, and for those who think there are too many being fulfilled.” Additionally, he comments, “How do you know if a director has been doing his job or her job when they can weigh all these amorphous factors, rather than look to the bottom line?”
