Gregory B. Shean is head of the firm's Real Estate Department and maintains a diverse real estate practice, counseling clients in the areas of acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, entity formation and joint ventures, financing, restructuring and workouts, construction and development.  Mr. Shean, who also serves as co-chair of the firm's Hospitality Industry team, regularly advises both hotel owners and managers regarding expansion and reduction of their property portfolios, management and technical assistance agreements and operational issues.

Mr. Shean recently represented The Swig Company in the sale of the landmark Fairmont Chicago Hotel.  In addition, Mr. Shean recently represented the Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant Group in the disposition of six of the company's San Francisco hotels, including the historic Sir Francis Drake, which Kimpton continues to manage.  He also represented Auberge Resorts in connection with the negotiation of management and other agreements for its two newest resorts:  Calistoga Ranch, an upscale resort and fractional ownership project in the heart of the Napa Valley; and the Inn at Palmetto Bluff, a luxury resort and spa located in South Carolina.

Mr. Shean represents the owner of 345 California Street, one of the premier San Francisco office buildings, in all of its leasing and related matters.  Mr. Shean also represents Levi Strauss & Co. on its domestic real estate matters, and has handled numerous dispositions of manufacturing and distribution facilities throughout the country, as well as the company's office and industrial leasing activity.

Prior to joining Farella, Mr. Shean was Vice President and General Counsel at Larkspur Hospitality Company, LLC, where he was responsible for all legal, compliance and risk-management matters for the fully-integrated hotel ownership, development and management company.
