Phil Peters is a partner in the Business Transactions Group. He advises clients on a wide range of domestic and international business transactions and has deep experience in the insurance, energy, construction, financial services, software, technology, hospitality, newspaper and gaming industries.
Mr. Peters is well known for his experience in handling insurance company acquisitions and other transactions. He recently has focused on transactions involving contractors, broker/dealers and renewable energy companies and projects and has been involved in a variety of solar project development matters. Over the years, he has worked on countless deals within the engineering, construction, power and energy industries, including international joint ventures.
Mr. Peters regularly advises clients on the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act and handles HSR filings and other antitrust compliance matters.
Mr. Peters is currently serving as the California liaison to the Corporate Laws Committee of the American Bar Association and is a former co-chair of the Corporations Committee of the Business Law Section of the California State Bar Association. He is the author of The California Corporation: Legal Aspects of Organization and Operation, 31-3rd C.P.S. (BNA). Mr. Peters has been named to the list of Northern California Super Lawyers.
Mr. Peters received his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 1986 and his B.A., in Classics, from Tufts University in 1981.
