Richard Robinson is an associate in Farella Braun + Martel’s Insurance Coverage, Construction and Business Litigation practices.
Mr. Robinson represents policyholders seeking coverage under a variety of insurance policies, including primary and excess general liability policies and professional liability policies. He has assisted clients in pursuing claims related to malpractice, nationwide class actions and intellectual property disputes. Mr. Robinson’s clients include technology companies, law firms, mass transit corporations and government agencies.
In his construction practice, Mr. Robinson represents public entities, designers, developers and contractors on a wide range of construction issues. He provides both contract drafting and litigation services to public and private entities, advising clients on public bidding requirements, claim analysis and preparation, dispute resolution, payment, performance and bonding issues. He also has experience with federal, state and municipal false claims acts.
Mr. Robinson's business litigation practice spans a wide range of disputes in both federal and state court. His experience includes handling quiet title actions, contractual claims, fraud and bribery allegations and adversary proceedings in bankruptcy.
Mr. Robinson also maintains an active pro bono practice helping individuals clear their criminal records and recover insurance proceeds. In 2014, he received the Keta Taylor Kolby Award for excellent representation of low-income residents through the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Second Chance Legal Clinic.
Mr. Robinson serves as a co-chair of the Barristers Club’s Insurance Practice Section for the Bar Association of San Francisco. During law school, he interned with the San Francisco Public Defender.
