As the Chief Information Officer at Farella Braun + Martel, Shirley leads the firm’s technology and information resources departments. Shirley takes a pragmatic approach to law firm technology, ensuring the lawyers and staff at the firm have the resources required to exceed client expectations without rushing to the latest widget, tool or app.
Shirley leverages her more than 20-year career in legal technology as both a consultant and a in-house Director and Chief Information Officer to weave technology products into a secure, stable web of resources, from document processing to electronic discovery through remote access and integration with external information databases. At Farella, she manages the technology and various information and service departments such as the library, calendar, litigation support, records and technology training.
Shirley is a current board member of the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) and has been an officer at both the regional and national levels. She recently won an ILTA Award for excellence in leadership and was honored along with a peer at Farella with the 2011 Distinguished Peer Award for delivering great business value and transformational impact through technology innovation and implementation.
Shirley is an avid dancer, and can be regularly seen jiving and swinging her way across the outdoor dance floor at San Francisco’s Lindy in the Park.
