Charles M. Sink, Partner

Charles M. Sink is a partner in the firm's Construction Practice Group and former chair of the Complex Litigation Department.  He has over 32 years of commercial litigation experience, largely involving construction or energy claims, and insurance-related issues.  He has served as an arbitrator (over 50 cases with AAA and the Office of Administrative Hearings) and as a mediator.

Mr. Sink represents: private owners; public entities; architects & engineers; and EPC contractors.  His claims experience covers many forms of public and private infrastructure, including: power plants; transmission lines; treatment plants, bridges and roads; commercial buildings; housing; government centers; hospitals; and airport facilities.

He has negotiated, drafted or reviewed project management contracts, design-build agreements, EPC contracts, purchase orders, and owner-contractor professional service agreements - on condo projects, wineries, houses, and many commercial and industrial projects.

Mr. Sink served, for four years, as the editor of The Construction Lawyer, a quarterly publication of the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry.  Some of Mr. Sink's publications include: The 2007 A201 Deskbook, Sink, Gwyn, O'Connor & Thomson, (ABA, 2008); False Claims in Construction Contracts: Federal, State, and Local, Sink & Pages (ABA, 2007); "Waivers of Consequential Damages" in Handbook on Construction Arbitration & ADR (JurisNet, LLC, 2007); Construction Damages and Remedies, O'Neal-Coble, Gwyn, Oles, Gibson & Sink, (ABA, 2004); The A201 Deskbook: Understanding the Revised General Conditions, Sink & Petersen (ABA, 1998); ADR: A Practical Guide to Resolve Construction Disputes, Harris, Sink & Wulff (AAA, 1994); and "Indirect, Consequential, and Punitive Damages" in Construction Law Handbook (Aspen, 1999). 

Mr. Sink is a Fellow in the American College of Construction Lawyers.  He has taught several classes on construction contracts and on dispute resolution.  Mr. Sink is consistently top ranked in Construction in California by Chambers USA.  He is listed as a "highly recommended" attorney in PLC Which Lawyer? and is also regularly listed in The Best Lawyers in America.
