In the article, Nate advises nonprofits to get out ahead of any forthcoming privacy regulations by taking stock of the data they collect and how they use it. If future legislation explicitly applies to nonprofits, they shouldn’t be caught flat-footed "because they unrealistically took the position that all of this would go away," he said.
