Biography
Hilary Marks’ litigation practice focuses on employment law where she represents companies of all sizes with specific experience in large public companies. She has defended employers in all stages of single-plaintiff employment disputes, from pre-litigation demand letters through discovery and trial preparation. Hillary specializes in cases alleging wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and accommodation in California state and federal courts.
During law school, Hillary was a legal research and writing teaching assistant with the Board of Student Advisors and a vice president of the West Coast Law Student Association. She was a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Goodwin Liu at the Supreme Court of California. As a student attorney in Harvard’s Criminal Justice Institute, she represented indigent clients facing misdemeanor charges in Boston criminal courts.
Prior to law school, Hillary worked on Google’s Ethics and Compliance team for two years and as a high school special education teacher for four years.
