September 26, 2018 Announcement

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 26, 2018: Farella Braun + Martel is pleased to announce the addition of Nate A. Garhart as special counsel in the Business Transactions Practice.

“We are delighted to welcome Nate to Farella. His deep experience working with companies to prosecute, protect, and strategically manage their trademark and copyright assets greatly expands our ability to service clients in this area,” said Phil Peters, chair of the firm’s Commercial Department. “Protecting intellectual property assets are vital to a company’s ability to achieve its mission and profitability goals.”

Garhart’s practice focuses on maximizing the value of trademark and copyright properties, from registering trademarks and copyrights to negotiating licenses for startups, public companies, and nonprofits. He works with clients to minimize legal risks related to their branding, advertising, and publicity strategies. Additionally, Garhart counsels clients on internet issues, such as drafting website terms of use, creating online privacy policies, and reviewing customer communications for compliance with current laws such as the European Union’s GDPR and California’s CaCPA. Garhart earned his J.D. from Duke University School of Law (1996). He joins Farella from Cobalt LLP in Berkeley.
