February 17, 2016 Accolades

SAN FRANCISCO, February 17, 2016: Farella Braun + Martel LLP Insurance Recovery Partner Erica Villanueva was named the exclusive recipient of the 2016 Client Choice Award in the Insurance category for California from International Law Office (ILO) and Lexology.

Villanueva advises policyholders seeking to maximize coverage under their insurance policies and litigates insurance coverage disputes, both at the trial and appellate levels. She works with policyholders to ensure that their claims are properly presented to insurers in order to obtain the maximum possible insurance recovery. She serves on the Bar Association of San Francisco’s Judiciary Committee and on the Executive Committee for its Insurance Law Section. She is a member of the Regional (N. Cal & HI) Steering Committee for the Hispanic National Bar Association and is the partner chair of Farella’s Diversity + Inclusion Committee. Villanueva is a frequent contributor to Farella’s insurance coverage blog, The Policyholder Perspective. To learn more about her practice, please visit http://www.fbm.com/Erica_Villanueva/.

Established in 2005, the Client Choice Awards recognize those partners around the world that stand apart for the excellent client service they provide. The awards are given based on an extensive survey of senior corporate counsel subscribers to International Law Office and Lexology. Clients are asked to rate individual lawyers and law firms on the following client service criteria: quality of legal advice, commercial awareness, industry knowledge, strategic thinking, billing transparency, tailored fee structures, value for money, responsiveness, effective communication, clarity of documentation, sharing of expertise, appropriate staffing, project management, use of technology, loyalty and ethics. Shortlisted candidates are then invited to submit up to five client references. The research team conducts follow-up interviews and additional research. While based on thorough and coherent research, the results remain the subjective views of the Client Choice team. This year's winners were chosen from a pool of more than 2,000 individual client assessments. Client Choice honored 223 attorneys across the United States and Canada.
