Farella Braun + Martel Named Among Top Law Firms For Diversity By Multicultural Law Magazine

SAN FRANCISCO, Mar. 14, 2007 - Farella Braun + Martel has been honored by Multicultural Law magazine as one of the "Top 100 Law Firms for Diversity."  The survey, conducted by the annual publication, analyzes information collected from more than 200 law firms.  The resulting list was published in the 2007 issue, which reaches more than 40,000 readers and is now available.

In addition, Farella Braun + Martel was included on the magazine's lists of "Top 50 Law Firms for Partners," "Top 50 Law Firms for Associates," "Top 100 Law Firms for Women," "Top 25 Law Firms for Hispanics," and "Top 25 Law Firms for Native Americans."

"We are honored to receive this recognition and continue to put considerable effort toward increasing diversity within our firm" said Steve Lowenthal, chairman of Farella Braun + Martel. 

Farella Braun + Martel maintains a diverse employee roster and has launched various initiatives to support its efforts.  In 2001, the firm established the Diversity Committee comprised of partners, associates and staff.  The committee leads programs, including annual firmwide diversity awareness workshops, and mentoring and professional development programs for minority attorneys, to advance diversity interests within the firm and the legal profession at large.  Farella Braun + Martel also has a Diversity Scholarship Program, which has provided almost $100,000 in scholarships to 24 first-year diverse Northern California law students over the last six years.
