Farella Braun + Martel Names New Partners Deepak Gupta and Sarah Peterman

SAN FRANCISCO, January 10, 2013 – Farella Braun + Martel LLP has elevated two attorneys to partner: Deepak Gupta and Sarah Peterman.

Gupta is an intellectual property and technology litigator focused on patent and copyright litigation. He is a founder of the firm's Internet Law Group and has significant experience representing Internet companies as well as content owners in Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) matters. He has first-chair jury trial experience and has successfully argued motions at the preliminary injunction, dismissal and summary judgment phases of litigation. Gupta has been named to the list of Northern California Rising Stars by Super Lawyers in the field of Intellectual Property. He earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School (2002), where he was a Lewis and Sheldon Fellow and obtained his B.S. with academic distinction from Stanford University (1995).

 

Peterman’s practice focuses on environmental and natural resources litigation and counseling in environmental enforcement actions, cost recovery litigation, citizen suits, complex toxic tort litigation and administrative proceedings. Her clients include product manufacturers, distributors, transportation companies, real estate developers and commercial property owners. She has first-chaired jury trials and successfully argued significant dispositive motions prior to trial. Peterman has been recognized among the Northern California Rising Stars by Super Lawyers in the field of Environmental Litigation. She serves on the Board of Directors for Golden Gate Audubon Society and for California Summer Music. Peterman earned her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law (2003), where she was a member of the Constitutional Law Quarterly and a copy editor for the Hastings Law News, and her A.B. from Princeton University (2000).
