Farella Braun + Martel’s Chris Locke Honored by Legal Aid of Marin

May 15, 2013 Press Release

SAN FRANCISCO, May 15, 2013 – Farella Braun + Martel Environmental Law Partner Christopher Locke will be honored as an inductee into the Legal Aid of Marin’s (LAM) Marin Justice League at its 55th Anniversary Gala on May 31.

The Marin Justice League was created to honor and celebrate  donors, volunteers and staff of LAM for defending the rights of its clients and advocating on behalf of all that seek justice. Locke’s induction honors his 25 years of service to LAM, where he has served as a volunteer attorney and as a member and past president of the board of directors.

LAM says of Locke, “When it comes to helping the community, Chris Locke does not know how to say no. Over the past 25 years, he has shown this time and again through his remarkable wisdom as both a volunteer attorney and as a LAM Board Member (and past Board President). LAM would not be what it is today without Chris Locke.”

At Farella, Locke’s environmental law and litigation practice includes assisting clients with complex project development strategies, CEQA/land use and related entitlement proceedings, air quality/climate change, water quality and hazardous waste issues, cost recovery litigation, and defense of federal and state enforcement actions, private attorneys general actions and citizen suits. A former federal prosecutor, Locke's practice includes grand jury representation and defense of criminal enforcement actions. Locke is recognized by Chambers USA as a leading California lawyer in environmental law, and is listed in Best Lawyers in America.

Legal Aid of Marin provides access to the civil justice system to low-income, vulnerable and otherwise underserved residents of Marin County. Its 55th Anniversary Gala will be held on May 31 at the Mill Valley Community Center. www.LegalAidMarin.org.
