Farella Braun + Martel’s Stephanie Skaff Named U.S. District Court for Northern District of California Lawyer Representative

SAN FRANCISCO (Dec. 20, 2010):  Farella Braun + Martel LLP's Stephanie P. Skaff has been selected to serve as a lawyer representative for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.  Chosen from a highly qualified, diverse group of applicants, Skaff was one of only six attorneys elected to the three-year position beginning January 2011. 

As a lawyer representative, Skaff will act as a liaison between the federal bench and members of the practicing bar.  She will help plan and present the Northern District Judicial Conference and will represent the district at the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference.

Skaff handles complex litigation matters, including fraud, securities, false claims, antitrust and intellectual property litigation.  She serves as the 2011 Secretary of the Bar Association of San Francisco and will become the 101st President of the Association in 2014.  She is a founding member of the Resource Board of the National Association of Women Judges, a former barrister and associate in the Edward J. McFetridge Inn of Court, and the Co-Chair of the ABA Litigation Section's popular Intellectual Property Roundtable program.  Skaff received her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (1995), where she served as an associate editor for the California Law Review, and was admitted to the Order of the Coif.  She was a law clerk for the Honorable D. Lowell Jensen of the United States District Court of the Northern District of California.
