Farella Expands Thriving Real Estate Practice

SAN FRANCISCO, May 6, 2015: Farella Braun + Martel LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Charles J. “CJ” Higley as a partner and Daniel J. McLeod as an associate to its Real Estate & Land Use Department.

 

“We are delighted to welcome CJ and Dan to the group,” said Greg Shean, chair of Farella’s Real Estate & Land Use Department. “They bring added depth and experience to our very busy team of transactional real estate, land use and complex project development attorneys.”

 

Higley has an impressive track record representing property owners, developers and cultural institutions with complex development projects in the Bay Area and Northern California. His practice focuses on assisting clients with land use entitlements, acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, design and construction law and CEQA compliance. Higley is a member of the Legislative Committee of the Environmental Section of the State Bar of California. He earned his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law (2002), where he served as an articles editor for Ecology Law Quarterly, and a Masters of Studies in Environmental Law (M.S.E.L.), magna cum laude, from Vermont Law School (2001). Higley joins Farella from Coblentz Patch Duffy & Bass LLP.

 

McLeod’s practice focuses on real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, financing, entity formation and joint ventures, and office and retail leasing on behalf of both landlords and tenants. McLeod earned his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law (2012). He joins the firm from Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP’s San Francisco office.
