Four Attorneys Join Farella Braun + Martel
SAN FRANCISCO, April 7, 2010 - Farella Braun + Martel LLP welcomes four associates to the firm, including: Mark Weaver and Evan Abrams in the Family Wealth Group, Matthew Bostick in the Environmental Law Department and Jesse Debban in the Business Transactions Group.
Weaver advises individuals and families on estate planning and trust administration including a wide range of income, gift, estate and property tax issues. His experience also includes the formation and administration of domestic and offshore revocable and irrevocable trusts, private trust companies, foundations and business entities. He externed for Judge Kim McLane Wardlaw, U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. Weaver earned his J.D. from the University of Southern California Law School (2005) and his B.A. in broadcast journalism and history from the University of Southern California (1998).
Bostick brings experience in environmental litigation and compliance matters, including contaminated property under CERCLA and RCRA; food safety and chemical exposure; and pesticides and antimicrobials under FIFRA and FFDCA. Additionally, he has experience defending individuals in civil and criminal securities fraud investigations. While in law school, he clerked for the U.S. Attorney's Office of the Northern District of California in San Francisco. More recently, he has volunteered with Bay Area Legal Aid on family law and domestic violence matters. Bostick received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law (2006), where he was the chief executive editor of the Virginia Environmental Law Journal, and his B.A., cum laude, in history from Williams College (1997).
Debban has represented companies across various industries in connection with complex corporate, securities and merger and acquisition transactions, including public and private company deals, tender offers, cross-border acquisitions and private equity investments. Debban received his J.D. from the UCLA School of Law (2006) and his B.A. in political science from the University of California, Los Angeles (2003).
Abrams has served as a judicial extern for the Hon. Geraldine Mund of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California. He recently received his LL.M. in taxation from New York University School of Law (2009), where he served as a graduate editor of the Tax Law Review. He earned his J.D. from the University of Southern California Law School (2008), where he was a member of the Southern California Review of Law and Social Justice, and his B.A. in economics from Emory University (2004). While in law school, Abrams assisted with the publication of Federal Income Tax: Examples and Explanations as a research assistant for Professor Thomas Griffith.
