Karen Kimmey Named Fellow of Litigation Counsel of America

August 22, 2022 Announcement

Northern California legal powerhouse Farella Braun + Martel is proud to announce that Partner Karen Kimmey has been selected as a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA).

Karen litigates a wide variety of commercial disputes, with particular emphasis on complex contract, fraud, unfair competition, and negligence claims. She also has significant experience in class actions and products liability matters. Karen approaches business litigation with the perspective of an experienced trial lawyer, particularly in high-stakes matters. When a company’s future is at stake, she knows what matters and what doesn’t in a case, leading to effective and efficient resolution. Clients have praised her for her aggressive courtroom advocacy, coupled with sound judgment and a myopic focus on their business objectives.

Karen earned her J.D. from the University of California Hastings College of the Law. She has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in the area of Commercial Litigation (2021-2023), and she received the prestigious California Lawyer Attorneys of the Year (CLAY) award in 2021 from the Daily Journal for her role as trial counsel in a precedent-setting antitrust class action against Sutter Health.

The Litigation Counsel of America is a trial lawyer honorary society composed of less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. Fellowship in the LCA is highly selective and by invitation only. Fellows are selected based upon excellence and accomplishment in litigation, both at the trial and appellate levels, and superior ethical reputation. The LCA is aggressively diverse in its composition. Established as a trial and appellate lawyer honorary society reflecting the American bar in the twenty-first century, the LCA represents the best in law among its membership. The number of Fellowships has been kept at an exclusive limit by design, allowing qualifications, diversity, and inclusion to align effectively, with recognition of excellence in litigation across all segments of the bar. Fellows are generally at the partner or shareholder level or are independent practitioners with recognized experience and accomplishment. In addition, the LCA is dedicated to promoting superior advocacy, professionalism, and ethical standards among its Fellows.
