Ricky leverages practical industry experience combined with thoughtful legal insight to advise corporate entities, developers, owners, financial institutions, and contractors on complex real estate transactions across asset classes. His experience includes joint ventures and co-investments, acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, and mortgage and mezzanine financings for a range of small and large development projects.

Ricky’s upbringing in and around the construction and real estate industries underlies his approach to counseling clients, who along with his colleagues have grown accustomed to seeing a transactional attorney in work boots and baseball hat. Ricky’s ties to the construction and real estate industry begin with his earliest childhood memories, walking jobsites with his father, a second-generation contractor, and working on construction projects throughout high school and college.

Ricky has developed an expertise representing institutional lenders in the negotiation and documentation of loans to borrowers in the wine industry, including real estate acquisition loans, vineyard and winery development loans, nonformula lines of credit to support business operations, and syndicated loan facilities.

Ricky has worked with clients on real estate transactions throughout Northern and Southern California, New York, Wyoming, Colorado, Texas, Washington, Oregon, and South Carolina. He has advised clients on a broad range of real estate asset classes including office, life science, multifamily and industrial, as well as wine and vineyard acquisition and development and non-traditional real estate asset classes such as single-family investment portfolios.

Ricky maintains an active pro bono practice and is on the Board of Directors of the Sonoma Valley Vintners and Growers Alliance.

Ricky serves on the firm’s Learning and Development Committee and Generative AI Task Force Subcommittee. During law school, he served as a judicial extern to the Honorable August B. Landis of the United States Bankruptcy Court in the District of Nevada.
