Talent Initiative

Opening Doors and Driving Success

Farella’s Talent Initiative’s goals include retaining and advancing more high-potential women and diverse associates to partnership and future internal and external leadership roles. It creates an environment in which organic sponsor relationships (not just mentorship) can grow and develop.  The Talent Initiative is bespoke to Farella and our culture and leverages a supporting cast of firm leaders to promote relationships and greater understanding of how Farella’s business is run.  The supporting cast includes Industry Group Leaders, Practice Area Leaders, Department Chairs, mentoring circle leaders, Dave Bruns (client services leader) and Sarah Good (DEI leader).  On occasion the supporting cast includes client in-house counsel. These relationships among senior firm leaders (both attorneys and staff) and Initiative participants cement the glue that makes Farella unique and successful.

The Initiative’s focus is on our women and diverse associates, and provides a clear demonstrative to recruits that Farella has a firmwide structure in place to support and promote individual lawyer success.  In its first two years, 70% of the Talent Initiative alumni eligible for partnership have been elevated to partner and most lead litigation and deal teams, industry group initiatives, and firmwide committees.
