The Shifting Sands of Regulatory and Criminal Enforcement in 2016 and Beyond

10/27/2016
San Francisco, CA

Jessica Nall and Douglas Young from Farella Braun + Martel and Kristin Rivera from Price Waterhouse Coopers presented "The Shifting Sands of Regulatory and Criminal Enforcement in 2016 and Beyond" at Farella's 10th Annual MCLE Day.

Topic: This panel will focus on some of the significant changes in the area of regulatory and criminal enforcement of corporate compliance issues. Both the SEC and DOJ are placing new emphasis on individual culpability and accountability for compliance failures, and both entities are making moves to expand enforcement in new areas and exercise jurisdiction in new ways. Increasingly, gatekeepers such as compliance personnel and in-house counsel can find themselves in the government’s cross-hairs. Every company, large or small, private or public, should be aware of these important dynamics and take steps to proactively address the trends.
