2013 Lawyers of Color Hot List Honors Janel Thamkul

October 28, 2013 Accolades

SAN FRANCISCO, October 28, 2013: Farella Braun + Martel LLP is pleased to announce that Business and Intellectual Property Litigation Associate Janel Thamkul has been named to Lawyers of Color’s inaugural Hot List.

The Hot List recognizes early- to mid-career minority attorneys under the age of 40 who are excelling in the legal profession. Honorees were chosen among six regions throughout the United States. The honorees were chosen through a two-pronged process. A selection committee reviewed nominations and researched bar publications and legal blogs in order to identify promising candidates who had noteworthy accomplishments or were active in legal pipeline initiatives.

Thamkul’s intellectual property litigation practice includes patent infringement, trademark and copyright infringement, and right of publicity issues in state and federal courts. As part of her business litigation practice, she manages multi-district product liability litigation as national coordinating counsel. Thamkul serves on the board of Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach, a community-based legal services organization serving the Asian and Pacific Islander communities of the Greater Bay Area. She is a member of the California Bar Foundation Scholarship Alumni Steering Committee. Thamkul received her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (2008), where she was a member of the California Law Review and internet editor for the Asian American Law Journal
