Erica Villanueva Honored by California Rural Legal Assistance

SAN FRANCISCO, October 26, 2018: Farella Braun + Martel LLP proudly announces that Partner Erica Villanueva will be honored by California Rural Legal Assistance (CRLA) with its 2018 Outstanding Alumni Award at its 2018 San Francisco Fiesta on November 8 at the City Club of San Francisco.

Villanueva advises policyholders seeking to maximize coverage under their insurance policies and litigates insurance coverage disputes. She has substantial coverage litigation experience, both at the trial and appellate levels. Villanueva currently serves as chair of the Bar Association of San Francisco’s Insurance Law Section and as a member of BASF’s Judiciary Committee, and in 2019 will begin serving a three-year term on the BASF Board of Directors. She also serves on the board for Centro Legal de la Raza and as a regional representative for the Yale Law School Alumni Executive Committee. At Farella, she is the partner co-chair of the firm’s Diversity + Inclusion Committee. Villanueva has been named to Benchmark Litigation’s 40 & Under Hotlist (2017-2018). She was the recipient of the 2016 Client Choice Award in the Insurance category for California from International Law Office (ILO) and Lexology. During law school, Villanueva worked as a summer clerk at CRLA. She earned her J.D. from Yale Law School in 2004.
