Settlement Reached with City of Lafayette Over Housing Element

Represented the Housing Action Coalition (HAC) in litigation against the City of Lafayette, challenging its adopted Housing Element for failing to comply with state housing laws. The lawsuit alleged that the City was avoiding its Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA) obligations by listing unrealistic sites. The matter was resolved through a settlement requiring the City to upzone approximately 130 acres for higher density residential apartments, mainly near the BART station. Learn more here.
