Associate - Tax - San Francisco/Hybrid

San Francisco

Farella Braun + Martel LLP seeks an associate with 2-4 years of experience for our Tax practice. Candidates should be familiar with a variety of federal and California income tax issues involving corporations, partnerships, LLCs and real estate. Experience with California property and sales tax matters a plus. The ideal candidate will have an LLM in Taxation.

This position is based in San Francisco, CA but may be a flexible hybrid position working remotely and in-person, as needed.

Patent/IP Agent or Scientific Analyst (Remote in CA or Hybrid)

San Francisco

Farella Braun + Martel is seeking an experienced Patent/IP Agent or Scientific Analyst with technical knowledge and outstanding writing and analytical skills to assist our IP group with patent litigation and IPR petitions before the Patent Office. Note, our practice does not include the preparation and filing of patent applications; thus, this is not a patent prosecution position. Candidates must have a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. USPTO registration is NOT required.

This position is based in San Francisco, CA but may be either fully remote (in CA) or a flexible hybrid position working remotely and in our office, as needed.

Associate - Family Wealth - (San Francisco/Hybrid or California Remote)

San Francisco

Farella Braun + Martel LLP seeks an associate with 3-7 years of experience for our Family Wealth practice. Candidates should have experience commensurate with their level in estate planning for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals. Experience with family offices issues a plus.

This position is based in San Francisco, CA but may be either fully remote (in CA) or a flexible hybrid position working remotely and in our office, as needed.

Associate – Employment Litigation

San Francisco

Farella Braun + Martel’s rapidly growing employment practice seeks a skilled associate with 3-4 years of employment law experience ideally in the technology, consumer products, financial services, renewable energy or real estate industries. A successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to leverage their litigation experience and entrepreneurial spirit to resolve our client’s most pressing employment concerns in a highly interactive team environment.

Special Counsel– Employment Litigation (Non-Partnership Track)

San Francisco

Farella Braun + Martel LLP seeks an attorney to join our employment litigation and counseling practice as a non-partnership track attorney. The candidate will work with the employment partners and associates on employment litigation matters in state and federal court and arbitration, and will support the group in providing employment advice and counseling to clients. Applicant should have at least 4 years of experience in California, including deposition experience. The successful candidate must have a high level of academic achievement and strong legal writing skills.

Partner - Business Transaction

San Francisco

Farella Braun + Martel seeks lateral business transaction partners for our San Francisco office with the ability to bring and manage an established book of business. The opportunity is available to partners at all seniority levels. Junior partners with growing practices and who wish to have greater autonomy than larger firms offer will be strongly considered. The ideal candidate will have experience working with a range of clients from closely held family businesses to large and complex business enterprises. A successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial approach to the practice of law and will demonstrate a desire and commitment to developing new business and expanding the firm’s relationships with existing clients. Candidates should be comfortable working in teams and contributing to the firm’s business development initiatives and industry groups. A non-exclusive list of such groups includes those serving the technology, renewable energy, real estate, wine, cannabis and food and beverage industries.

Partner - Wine Industry

St. Helena

Farella Braun + Martel is seeking one or more lateral transactional partners with wine industry experience, whether that experience is focused on transactional matters, real estate and land use and/or estates and trusts. Our wine industry practice emphasizes all of these areas and all are a part of our full service offering. A commitment to the wine industry and a desire to be a part of a growing team is more important to us than a particular legal skill set. While our wine industry practice is centered in our St. Helena office, an appropriate candidate could be a primary resident of either of our offices, but would be expected to spend significant time in both locations.
