Bar Association of San Francisco Criminal Justice Section Appoints Farella Braun + Martel’s Jessica Nall Co-Chair of Executive Committee

November 16, 2010 Announcement

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 16, 2010 - Farella Braun + Martel partner Jessica K. Nall has been elected co-chair of the executive committee of the Bar Association of San Francisco's (BASF) Criminal Justice Section for a one-year term effective Nov. 10, 2010.

The Criminal Justice Section seeks to provide BASF members with continuing legal education (CLE) programs and a network of moral and professional support.

Nall defends individuals and corporate clients in high-stakes white-collar criminal matters and civil litigation.  Nall's recent accomplishments include her defense of national executives of major electronics companies accused of cartel conspiracy and price-fixing, the defense of a tax evasion case that presented an unprecedented prosecution theory based on alleged stock option exercise backdating, and representation of a state governmental agency investigated for possible public integrity violations.

A significant portion of Nall's practice includes the defense of executives and companies facing SEC enforcement actions, Department of Justice investigations and prosecutions, and representation and preparation of non-party witnesses facing government investigation or grand jury testimony.  She has also represented plaintiffs and defendants in civil litigation in both state and federal court.

Nall received her J.D. from Harvard Law School (2001), where she was the Associate Articles Editor for the Harvard Women's Law Journal, and her B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley (1998).  She was a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Judge Tauro of the U. S. District Court of the District of Massachusetts.  Nall is a founding member of WCC Women, a professional support network of white-collar women defense attorneys, and has served as a member of the board of directors for Women Defenders.
