Erica Villanueva Named to 2019 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Fellows Program

February 26, 2019 Accolades

SAN FRANCISCO, February 25, 2019: Farella Braun + Martel is proud to announce that partner Erica Villanueva has been named a member of the 2019 class of Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellows. LCLD created the intensive year-long Fellows Program to identify, train, and advance the next generation of leaders in the legal profession.

Founded in 2009, LCLD includes more than 300 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who are committed to creating a more diverse and inclusive legal profession. The LCLD Fellows Program has trained more than 1,600 mid-career attorneys since 2011.

In her practice, Villanueva advises policyholders seeking to maximize coverage under their insurance policies and litigates insurance coverage disputes. She helps her clients navigate the insurance claims process, pursues breach of contract and bad faith claims against insurers, and advises on policy wording and insurance renewals. Villanueva is a member of the board of directors of the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF). In 2018, she completed a three-year term on BASF’s Judiciary Committee and served as chair of BASF’s Insurance Law Section. She has been named to Benchmark Litigation’s 40 & Under Hotlist (2017 & 2018) and was the recipient of the 2016 Client Choice Award in the Insurance category for California from International Law Office (ILO) and Lexology. In 2018, she was honored by California Rural Legal Assistance with its Outstanding Alumni Award. Villanueva earned her J.D. at Yale Law School and her B.A. at the University of California, Berkeley.
