Farella Braun + Martel Named to NAFE and Flex-Time Lawyers’ 2011 Best Law Firms for Women

September 13, 2011 Accolades

SAN FRANCISCO (September 13, 2011): The National Association for Female Executives (NAFE) and Flex-Time Lawyers LLC have named Farella Braun + Martel LLP one of the 50 Best Law Firms for Women 2011. NAFE is a division of Working Mother Media.

This is the third time that Farella has been named as a Best Law Firm for Women. The honor highlights the firm’s commitment to parental leave and reduced hours policies, gender equity and programs like its Women’s Leadership Committee. Generous, creative and progressive policies and a culture of inclusion, collegiality and mentoring are what distinguish Farella.

“We are proud of the commitment we have made to recruit, develop and advance our female attorneys,” said Steve Lowenthal, managing partner at Farella Braun + Martel LLP. “We understand that the paths to professional success vary and are dedicated to helping women succeed while maintaining a manageable work-life balance. The firm’s inclusive culture founded on the values of equity and respect draws female attorneys to the firm and keeps them here.”

Farella and the 50 Best Law Firms for Women will be featured in the Fall 2011 issue of NAFE magazine and are profiled at www.nafe.com, www.workingmother.com and www.flextimelawyers.com/best. Winning firms will be honored in New York on September 21.

Methodology: The 2011 Best Law Firms for Women application was developed in a partnership between Working Mother Media and Flex-Time Lawyers LLC. Firms with at least 50 lawyers were eligible to apply. Completed applications were collected online from November 12, 2010 to January 21, 2011. All data for the 2011 survey was collected from the full year of 2010. The 50 winning firms were selected based on their responses to an application measuring key areas most important to women lawyers, such as workforce profile, family-friendly benefits and policies, flexibility, leadership, compensation, advancement and retention of women.
