Sushila Chanana Named to 2020 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Fellows Program

SAN FRANCISCO, February 13, 2020: Farella Braun + Martel is proud to announce that Sushila Chanana has been named a member of the 2020 class of Fellows participating in a landmark program created by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) to identify, train, and advance the next generation of leaders in the legal profession. Sushila joins a select group of experienced attorneys from diverse backgrounds who have been recognized for their potential as leaders in their organizations.

Founded in 2009, LCLD includes more than 320 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who are committed to creating a more diverse and inclusive legal profession. The LCLD Fellows Program has trained more than 1,600 mid-career attorneys since 2011.

Sushila is a high-stakes technology litigator and legal advisor, and has a background in privacy and cybersecurity. She represents companies in complex civil matters, including patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secrets disputes. Her clients have ranged from startups to Fortune 500 companies. In addition to representing clients in federal and state court, at both the trial and appellate levels, Sushila has also assisted clients with matters before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). Additionally, Sushila has drafted amicus briefs in various U.S. Supreme Court cases. Outside of litigation, Sushila works with her clients to develop long-term intellectual property protection strategies and counsels companies on compliance with various data privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Sushila received her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2007.
