CJ Higley is a partner in Farella Braun + Martel’s Real Estate & Land Use Department.
Mr. Higley’s practice includes assisting clients with land use entitlements, acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, design and construction law and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) compliance. He has significant experience representing property owners, developers and cultural institutions with complex development projects.
Recent projects have included negotiating a 60-year ground lease for the expansion and redevelopment of the San Francisco Wholesale Produce Market and representing the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in connection with its 250,000 square foot expansion, including negotiating both the agreement between the museum and the Norwegian architecture firm selected to design the landmark expansion and the project’s primary construction contract with Webcor Builders.
Mr. Higley is a member of the Legislative Committee of the Environmental Section of the State Bar of California. He is a member of San Francisco Planning and Urban Research (SPUR) and the Urban Land Institute (ULI). He is recognized in The Legal 500 United States 2016 Land Use / Zoning practice area. He been recognized among the Northern California Super Lawyers - Rising Stars 2013.
