Biography

Lou Haas’s legal practice focuses on business advice and transactions, with many clients in the real estate and construction industries.

The business law areas of his practice include advising company leaders on a wide array of matters, structuring transactions and entities, financing, credit arrangements, and other corporate matters. He works with clients across a broad range of industries, including real estate, construction, manufacturing, technology, and various service businesses. He also advises nonprofit entities and has served on several nonprofit boards.

In his past practice, Lou tried and supervised government contract disputes in virtually every forum in the country, including contract appeals boards, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, the U.S. Government Accountability Office, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the Association of General Contractors Legal Advisory Committee and has frequently written articles and given lectures on topics related to construction and government contracts.

Before joining Farella, Lou served as managing partner of Haas & Najarian for 52 years.

While on active duty as an Army lawyer and officer, he served as chief trial attorney representing the government in contract dispute cases before the U.S. Army Board of Contract Appeals, Europe.
