Farella Braun + Martel announces that William P. Keane has been appointed as Secretary of the Executive Committee of the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL).

Bill was installed as Secretary on October 24 at the 2026 ACTL Annual Meeting in New York City for a one-year term. If reappointed to the Executive Committee for each of the following three years, Bill will assume the ACTL presidency for a one-year term beginning in the Fall of 2029. 

Bill was inducted as an ACTL Fellow in 2010. In 2022, he was appointed to ACTL’s Board of Regents for Region 2 (California-Northern, Nevada) for a four-year term. He also previously served as chair of both the Northern California State Committee and the Federal Criminal Procedure Committee for three years each.

A former Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of California, Bill has over 35 years of trial experience in criminal and civil litigation. Since joining Farella in 1997, Bill’s practice has focused on federal white collar criminal and regulatory defense, corporate internal investigations, and civil commercial litigation.
