State Seeks Better Local Water-Use Oversight
Farella Environmental Partner Robert Hines commented on increasing state oversight of water-use issues in the wine industry. The article noted that water supply is becoming more of a factor in whether governments approve new vineyard and winery projects — and whether such properties get sold. According to Hines, "If there is a purchase or sale of a vineyard, buyers want to make sure there are sufficient rights to water and do those rights have sufficient supply.”
