Join Don Sobelman and guest speaker, Mehran Ebrahimi with GSI Environmental Inc, in the discussion "Navigating the Statewide Winery Order: Applicability, Challenges & Compliance" on July 29.

As of January 2024, most wineries in California that discharge winery waste to land were required to enroll under the current General Waste Discharge Requirements (WDRs) for Winery Process Water, issued by the State Water Resources Control Board in 2021. In addition, certain Napa County wineries that are currently covered under Napa County’s program will need to enroll under these WDRs by January 2027. However, many covered wineries have yet to enroll, and those who have enrolled are often finding compliance to be a challenge.

Join us as we discuss why timely awareness and action are critical to maintain compliance, avoid potential enforcement actions, and ensure that day-to-day winery operations are not impacted, including:

  • Key elements of the Statewide Winery Order
  • Which wineries are required to obtain coverage, and how to apply
  • Implications of enrolling, if the January 2024 deadline was applicable
  • Implications of the January 2027 sunsetting of the Napa County program
  • Common compliance challenges wineries are experiencing
  • Practical tips and resources to help wineries achieve and remain in compliance
