Jim Day Named a 2023 IP Trailblazer by the National Law Journal

Farella Braun + Martel is proud to announce that partner James L. Day was named a 2023 Intellectual Property Trailblazer by the National Law Journal for his work coordinating district court and patent office litigation. His strategic use of IPRs recently led to the cancellation of over 100 asserted patent claims for his client. Read the Q&A with Jim here.

Head of Farella’s Patent Office Litigation practice, Jim is focused on solving complex IP disputes for major technology clients in federal courts and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). He has pioneered the strategic use of patent office litigation to save his clients time, money, and uncertainty. He also has extensive experience litigating patents in federal district courts around the United States, dealing with technologies as diverse as cable networks, disk drives, video networking, electronic locks, lightning-protected gas tubing, and pharmaceuticals. In addition to his legal credentials, he is an electrical engineer with software industry experience, giving him credibility with judges, juries, and his clients’ technical experts. Jim was named to the Daily Journal’s 2020 and 2023 lists of Top IP Lawyers and among Managing Intellectual Property’s IP Stars in Patent Litigation since 2018.
