SAN FRANCISCO, October 9, 2019: Farella Braun + Martel is proud to announce that Jeffrey M. Fisher was named among the “Top Trade Secrets Lawyers” in California by the Daily Journal. Fisher has twice been named among California’s “Top Intellectual Property Lawyers” by the Daily Journal (2019 and 2012).

The Daily Journal highlighted Fisher’s experience representing smaller innovative companies fighting technology giants in court. This year, Fisher led the Farella team representing CNEX Labs, Inc. in a widely watched trade secrets jury trial in the Eastern District of Texas. After a three-week trial, the jury deliberated less than a day before ruling in favor of CNEX clearing it of all allegations of trade secret misappropriation, CFAA, and RICO claims made by Chinese smartphone maker behemoth Huawei Technologies. Instead, the jury found in favor of CNEX on its counterclaims for trade secret misappropriation, claims which CNEX uncovered during the discovery phase of the case.

In another high profile trade secrets jury trial, Fisher led Farella’s team on behalf of UK-based client the BladeRoom Group in 2018 in the Northern District of California in its case against Emerson Electric on trade secret and breach of NDA claims relating to BladeRoom’s innovative data center technology. After deliberating less than a day following a five-week trial, the jury came back with a finding of willful and malicious misappropriation and awarded BladeRoom $30 million in damages, doubled in post-trial briefing by the trial judge to $60 million plus interest and attorneys’ fees.

Fisher is an accomplished trial lawyer with experience in federal and state courts and at both the trial and appellate levels. His practice involves a variety of high-stakes intellectual property and technology disputes, including patent, trade secret, copyright, and trademark infringement, as well as antitrust and unfair competition cases. Fisher serves as co-chair of Farella’s Litigation Department.
