Jeffrey Fisher Inducted to American College of Trial Lawyers

March 5, 2021 Announcement

Northern California legal powerhouse Farella Braun + Martel is proud to announce that Partner Jeffrey M. Fisher has been inducted as a Fellow into the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier professional trial lawyer organizations in America. Fisher, who co-chairs Farella’s Litigation Department, was inducted at the College’s virtual Spring Meeting on March 5.

A firm tradition that has seen a total of seven partners named ACTL Fellows over the years, Fisher joins Farella colleagues and ACTL Fellows Jerome Braun, John Cooper, Jim Haydel, William Keane, John Martel, and Douglas Young. Over the firm’s almost 60-year history, an additional 13 lawyers have been named Fellows across the American College of Coverage Counsel; American College of Environmental Lawyers; American College of Labor & Employment Lawyers; American College of Construction Lawyers, and American College of Investment Counsel.

“Forging industry leaders is just one of the keys to attracting and retaining talent at Farella, and throughout a lawyer’s career we actively encourage and support – in hours, sponsorship, and volunteering – the sort of involvement that builds to leadership across an array of legal specialties, industries, and initiatives, including those aimed at professional excellence and ethics, as well as issues of diversity, equity and inclusion, and access to justice,” noted Farella Managing Partner Brian Donnelly. “I couldn’t be prouder of Jeff and the more than 15 percent of our current partnership that have been invited to professional Fellowships and actively participate in these critical organizations.”

Fisher is an accomplished trial lawyer with experience in federal and state courts and at both the trial and appellate levels. His practice involves a variety of high-stakes intellectual property and technology disputes, including patent, trade secret, copyright, and trademark infringement, as well as antitrust and unfair competition cases. He has specific experience with a wide variety of technologies, including semiconductor and chip packaging technologies; computer hardware, software, and networking technologies; green energy technologies; internet and encryption technologies; digital data compression technology; and data center cooling and construction technologies. He also represents clients in connection with parallel Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) proceedings. Fisher is listed in Best Lawyers in America for patent litigation, and in Managing Intellectual Property’s IP Stars in the areas of Patent Litigation and Trademark. The Daily Journal has named him to its lists of “Top IP Lawyers” and “Top Trade Secrets Lawyers” in California.

Founded in 1950, the American College of Trial Lawyers is widely considered to be the premier professional trial organization in North America. An invitation-only fellowship, the College thoroughly investigates each nominee for admission and selects only those who have demonstrated the very highest standards of trial advocacy, ethical conduct, integrity, professionalism, and collegiality. The College is dedicated to maintaining and improving the standards of trial practice, professionalism, ethics, and the administration of justice.
