Chris Locke Recognized for Jack London State Historic Park Pro Bono Work

September 26, 2023 Announcement

Farella Braun + Martel is proud to announce that Environmental Law Partner Chris Locke was honored as a Park Advocate for his pro bono efforts at Jack London Park Partners’ Jack’s Bohemian Groove fundraising gala on September 23. Proceeds from the event benefited Jack London State Historic Park in Sonoma County.

Since 2021, Chris has offered the park pro bono assistance on environmental law and land use issues. Among other matters, Chris, assisted by Farella Special Counsel Chris Rendall-Jackson, recently represented Jack London Park Partners in successfully seeking the direct transfer of 400 acres of open space at Sonoma Developmental Center to Jack London State Historic Park. The land includes the historic orchard, which provides produce for Farm to Pantry, fighting food insecurity in Sonoma County.

The event was covered in the Press Democrat article, “Jack London Park Gala 2023: Jack’s Bohemian Groove.”

Chris has over 30 years of experience counseling and representing clients in all aspects of environmental law, environmental litigation, and enforcement defense. He is a fellow of the American College of Environmental Lawyers (ACOEL), a former director of the Environmental Law Institute (ELI), and is recognized by Chambers USA and The Best Lawyers in America®  as a leading California lawyer in environmental law.
