Farella Braun + Martel Welcomes Benjamin Buchwalter to Growing Employment Group

November 2, 2023 Announcement

Farella Braun + Martel is pleased to announce the addition of Benjamin R. Buchwalter as special counsel in its Employment Group.

“We are delighted to welcome Ben to Farella and to our team of talented employment law lawyers,” said Holly Sutton, chair of Farella’s Employment Group. “Ben adds significant bench strength to Farella’s growing employment practice. He brings both deep employment litigation experience and expertise in advising employers on employment policies tailored to meet our clients’ business cultures and goals and minimize their legal risks.”

Through his experience defending companies of all sizes in employment litigation and, most recently, as an in-house employment attorney at San Francisco-based Plaid Inc., Ben strives to understand what is most important to his clients in order to reach the best company-tailored resolution of disputes. He has deep experience defending companies in single-plaintiff and class and representative action lawsuits related to discrimination, retaliation, harassment, leaves of absence, wage and hour compliance, and requests for accommodations in federal and state courts and arbitrations and before administrative agencies. In addition to helping companies achieve their litigation goals, Ben is passionate about advising employers on pragmatic and proactive employment programs to help California employers “see around corners” and establish measures tailored to their goals and culture to minimize unacceptable risks. Ben served as a law clerk to the Honorable Larry R. Hicks of the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada. He earned his J.D. from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco.
