Farella Represents Catalyze in Its Acquisition of PermaCity

Northern California legal powerhouse Farella Braun + Martel represented leading national independent power producer Catalyze as due diligence counsel in its acquisition of solar developer and installer PermaCity.

Based in Boulder, Colorado, Catalyze is a developer and independent power producer of renewable distributed generation, energy storage, and electric vehicle (EV) charging projects. The strategic acquisition of Los Angeles-based PermaCity, known for its revolutionary and proprietary rooftop solar panel mounting technology, “SolarStrap”, expands Catalyze’s project pipeline to more than two gigawatts and establishes a stronghold in the large California distributed solar market.

The Farella team representing Catalyze was led by business transactions partner David Stoll and associate Shannon Kimball, and included special counsel Michael Ginsburg advising on project contracts, and intellectual property lawyers Daniel Callaway and Nadia Arid who handled the patent portfolio review. Lawyers in Willkie Farr & Gallagher’s Houston and New York offices served as deal counsel to Catalyze on the acquisition.
