Ryan Lowther Named Chair of Newly Formed BASF Cannabis Law Committee

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 12, 2018: Farella Braun + Martel LLP announces that partner Ryan Lowther was installed as chair of the newly formed Cannabis Law Committee for the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF).

BASF formed the Cannabis Law Committee to provide a resource to its members advising clients in the cannabis space, to engage with the public on issues affecting the practice of law regarding cannabis, and to increase the membership’s overall knowledge and expertise in this rapidly changing area of law.

On October 4, the Cannabis Law Committee will present its inaugural fall conference: Views From the Frontier: Practicing Law in the Cannabis Space. The half-day event closes with a cocktail and networking reception at Farella Braun + Martel’s San Francisco office.

Lowther has a broad-based general business practice that assists early stage and mature companies in all industries meet their corporate, securities, financing and operational needs. He has extensive experience leading merger and acquisition transactions and working with investors in evaluating investment opportunities. As chair of Farella’s Cannabis Industry Practice, he represents all players in the industry, including cultivators, retailers, manufacturers and investors, in starting, funding and growing their businesses and addressing the significant legal and regulatory hurdles faced by businesses in this industry. Farella’s Cannabis Industry Group also includes lawyers who specialize in real estate, environmental law, tax, insurance, employment, intellectual property and litigation.
