Amy Briggs Inducted to American College of Coverage Counsel

March 16, 2021 Announcement

Northern California legal powerhouse Farella Braun + Martel announces that Partner Amy B. Briggs has been inducted as a Fellow into the American College of Coverage Counsel (ACCC), the preeminent association representing the interests of insurers and policyholders in disputes arising out of insurance policies.

Briggs is the fifth Farella attorney invited into the ACCC, joining colleagues Tyler Gerking, John Green, Mary McCutcheon, and Raymond Sheen as fellows. Continuing to punch above its weight, the firm has 15 current fellows across various legal colleges, including the American College of Coverage Counsel; American College of Trial Lawyers; American College of Environmental Lawyers; American College of Labor & Employment Lawyers; and American College of Investment Counsel.

“At Farella, we have an outstanding track record of our partners joining and supporting these crucial legal colleges, and historically, we have encouraged our attorneys’ active involvement and continued leadership in support of initiatives that drive the legal profession forward. Amy is the latest Farella lawyer to be inducted to the ACCC ranks, and we are proud of her ongoing success and immersion in the industry and her engagement with this esteemed group,” said Farella Managing Partner Brian Donnelly.

Over a career spanning more than two decades, Briggs advises clients on complex business litigation matters involving insurance coverage and bad faith disputes. She represents policyholders in a variety of sectors, with an emphasis on real estate, construction, and healthcare. Briggs has successfully litigated first- and third-party coverage and bad faith claims arising out of general liability, directors and officers, errors and omissions, fiduciary and employment practices liability policies, as well as commercial property and builder’s risk policies. Briggs is named among The Best Lawyers in America (2018-2020) and was named a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America in 2018.

Comprised of senior lawyers with at least 15 years of experience handling insurance disputes, the American College of Coverage Counsel is an invitation-only organization dedicated to educating all insurance law professionals on cutting-edge, emerging, and critical issues, such as developing trends in insurance law and bad faith, trial practice and alternative dispute resolution, policy formation and claims handling.
