Farella Braun + Martel Names Philip Peters Chair of Commercial Department

SAN FRANCISCO, January 30, 2017 – Farella Braun + Martel LLP has appointed Partner Philip W. Peters to chair its Commercial Department.

 

“Phil is a talented transactional lawyer with strong leadership skills and is a trusted business advisor to his clients,” said firm chairman Brian Donnelly. “We are confident in his ability to lead our business transactions, tax, family wealth and exempt organizations practices forward and serve our clients well.”

 

Peters is well known for handling significant insurance company transactions of all types and has been involved in an array of utility-scale renewable energy project development and purchase and sale transactions. Additionally, he has deep transactional experience in the construction and engineering, financial services, software, technology, hospitality, newspaper, and gaming industries. He regularly advises clients on the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act and handles HSR filings and other antitrust compliance matters.

Peters is the California liaison to the Corporate Laws Committee of the American Bar Association and is a former co-chair of the Corporations Committee of the Business Law Section of the California State Bar Association. He earned his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law.
