Kelly Matayoshi: 2026 Best LGBTQ+ Lawyers Under 40

Farella Braun + Martel is proud to announce that the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association has named partner Kelly M. Matayoshi among 2026’s “Best LGBTQ+ Lawyers Under 40.” Each year, the LGBTQ+ Bar recognizes 40 legal professionals who have distinguished themselves in their field and have demonstrated a profound commitment to LGBTQ+ equality.  

In her law practice, Kelly represents a broad range of companies in complex business and employment litigation. She focuses on product liability, contract disputes, and breach of fiduciary duty. Her extensive employment experience includes representing employers in a range of causes of action in state and federal courts, including wrongful termination and class action wage-and-hour disputes. 

Kelly served as President of the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area in 2025 and, in 2020, as President of the Barristers Club of the Bar Association of San Francisco and of the UC Law SF Alumni Association Board of Governors. She serves on the San Francisco Superior Court Committee on the Elimination of Bias. She is also active in the ABA Section of Litigation, where she recently served as Managing Director. Kelly received UC Law San Francisco’s Alum of the Year Award in 2025, was named a 2024 “Lawyers on the Fast Track” winner by Law.com and The Recorder, and the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) named her to its list of 2024’s “Best Under 40.”
