Farella Braun + Martel Advises First Solar on Silver State South Solar Project

SAN FRANCISCO, June 2, 2014: Farella Braun + Martel LLP represented First Solar, Inc. on its 250-megawatt Silver State South Solar Project, located on approximately 3,000 acres of federal land managed by the Bureau of Land Management in Clark County, Nevada.

Farella represented First Solar with the development of the project, including real estate, permitting and environmental review in connection with the federal, state and local approvals for the project, and supported the company in the sale of the project to NextEra Energy Resources, LLC. The sale closed on May 27.

Farella’s development team was led by Environmental Partner David Lazerwitz and Real Estate Partner Dirk Mueller, and assisted by Environmental Senior Associate Mathew Swain and Environmental Associate Ashley Breakfield.

Farella worked closely with Nevada local counsel Linda Bullen at Lionel Sawyer & Collins and supported Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP’s New York and Washington, D.C. offices on the corporate and commercial aspects of the sale.
