Mary McCutcheon Honored With Women of Achievement Award

SAN FRANCISCO, March 16, 2016: Farella Braun + Martel LLP partner Mary E. McCutcheon was named a recipient of Legal Momentum’s Women of Achievement Award honoring distinguished women business leaders. McCutcheon is a senior partner in Farella’s Insurance Recovery Practice and chair of the firm's Construction and Insurance Department.

The 11th Annual Women of Achievement Awards Dinner honors a group of women who inspire, motivate and succeed. The roster of 2016 honorees also includes: Meena Elliott, Senior Vice President, Chief Legal and Administrative Officer, Corporate Secretary, Aviat Networks, Inc.; Kelly McGinnis, Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer, Levi Strauss & Co.; Anne Wojcicki, CEO and Co-Founder and Kathy Hibbs, Chief Legal and Regulatory Officer, 23andMe, Inc.; and Salle Yoo, General Counsel, Uber Technologies, Inc.

Legal Momentum is the country’s oldest national civil rights organization dedicated to advancing the legal rights of women and girls by using the power of the law and creating innovative public policy in three broad areas: economic justice, freedom from gender-based violence and equality under the law.

McCutcheon represents corporations, public entities and individuals in a wide variety of insurance coverage disputes including securities litigation and investigations, intellectual property disputes, cyber liability and other technology-related risks, employment-related claims and mass casualty personal injuries. She advises companies and individual directors regarding issues involved in the placement of directors' and officers' liability insurance and related indemnification issues, as well as handling claims that arise under those policies.

McCutcheon is a founding member of the American College of Coverage and Extracontractual Counsel and serves as chair of its Membership Committee and is a member of the Executive Committee. She is a member and past president of the Board of Directors of the National Center for Youth Law. She is recognized among the leading insurance attorneys in California by Chambers USA and Best Lawyers in America.

The event takes place on March 16 at the Hotel InterContinental San Francisco.
